Going to the Southeast

Hi, I am in Oklahoma city about to continue my trip around the country. My next stop is in the Southeast region.

I can't wait to learn all about the Southeast like all of its resources that the whole entire country relies on. I want to know what they produce there and why don't they farm in a different place? I think that these questions are going to be answered  very soon. What I already know is that the country relies on the Southeast for alot of there needs like food, material, and of course water from the Mississippi river.

Is the Southeast the biggest resource area in the country or is there a bigger one? What makes it so good farming there in the Southeast? Will it ever be worse or better conditions for farming? I just can't wait till I get there. See you later!

Starting in the Southwest!

Hi! I'm going to the Southwest to find out all the amazing facts that are there. But first I want to find out some things in the area.

Like: why does it only have 4 states in it? Is it hugely populated? Does it have any good resources that the people rely on? All I know about it is that it has the great Grand Canyon. It is the biggest canyon in the world! Part of the region is boardered by Mexico. I wonder if the whole country even relies on the resources in the Southwest? Are there any main attractions in the region that brings everyone there besides the Grand  Canyon?

I want to find out how people lived and how their culture was celebrated. I have been to the Southwest before and I visited The Grand Canyon. I hiked all around , even a mile down. It was kind of unsafe since there were no rails to hang on to. I saw that there were tons of cool off terrain places that werevery cool. I saw a bunch of cougar tracks on the ground and discovered that 2 out of 3 people meet a cougar on the trails... but, they wouldn't hurt you if you let them be. Overall I just can't wait for all these exciting facts!

continuing in the west!

This week I chose to go to Cascade Canyon. I chose to go here because whenever I heard someone talking about the west, it was about its land forms! So I chose a landform and it was Cascade Canyon.

I would definately go back to the canyon because of its beautiful, scenic, views. Also because of the hiking on Teton peak (which is 13,370 feet high). There is also a good big source of water called Jenny lake. It is in the valley of the main peaks. The boat tours there is a good business because people go there to hike but when they here about the boat tours....they can't resist!

I would recomend going to the Gold Rush site in California because it is a main part of history in the West. It gave a lot of important facts of why people "rushed" there. It also gave us facts of why California became a state. I would also like to visit Las Vegas. I would like to visit because I heard of that it was a HUGE attraction site and it was in the middle of nowhere and around it was just a desert! Catch ya later!

Going to the West!

I am in Mount Rushmore South Dakota and I am about to start my road trip in the West. I'm so excited to see all the views and here all the interesting facts!

I wonder if the farming is as good in the West as it was in the Midwest. Do people have the same source of food? Will the landscape be flat like a prairie like in the Midwest or will it be rocky mountains everywhere? First I think I will visit California to check out the famous jail were Alcapone was once in. It is called... Alcatraz. I hope I don't stay there for a life sentence!

I'm looking forward to meeting all the places in the West. maybe I can meet some "geeks" [you know what I mean] that can tell me all about the technology in the West and why they picked the West for the tech place. looking forward to continue my trip!

Sincerely,
Alek

This week I went to the famous Fort Dearborn. I chose to go to Fort Dearborn because it has an interesting history with the Native Americans and the Americans fighting for their land.

I would really recomend going there because it is cool to learn all the facts about the Americans settling in the Midwest to make other lives better and to make it safe to live. It is also interesting because when I was there, people were dressed as Native Americans and told us how they lived in the wild. I would recomend going to Mount Rushmore, since it has beautiful sights.Of course I would also recomend going to Fort, since it has very interesting.

I would want to go to the Mississippi river, the great lakes, and Niagra Falls. I would like to go to all these places because Niagra Falls has splendid sights, the Mississippi river is cool because it is one of the longest river in the world and second longest in the U.S.A. I picked the great lakes because of what I heard it is one of the biggest bodies of water that actually is fresh.

My Road Trip

I know a lot about the Midwest. It is so interesting with fun facts all over! In the Midwest there tons and tons of good farming ground everywhere. It also has lots of cool places to visit like Chicago, Mount Rushmore, and a bunch of national parks.

Do you know why the Midwest has awesome farming ground? It is because thousands of years ago huge glaciers melted into the soil and made it good farming ground. The Midwest people are happy to live here because they have good spots to farm their crops and make a living. This is also how people have good trading posts. The Midwest has a good place for buissnesses because there are the great lakes there and people use boats to bring cargo to the places that need it.  They also made continental railroads that went all over the U.S. These trains also helped them bring their items around.

What I want to know is how did people think of making all these transportation devices to make their lives easier? I wonder how the badlands in South Dakota were formed. And how was it even possible to make a living in the Midwest when people had nothing but sod houses and somehow they turned it in to the great city Chicago and other cool cities in the Midwest!

                                                                                                                Thanks for reading!,
